What is your best performing indicator?

Interested to know what your best performing indicator is and why? Obviously without revealing to much!

I think this is a good one :)
Good thread! Our in-house news filtering for us is critical, due to being a news trader.
I find Fibonacci lines combined with stochastics to be pretty consistent. I haven't run any back testing on it though.
Hey Errol,

You might want to add in 20,50,200 day moving average along with that if your not already. Are you strictly a technical trader?
Andrew,

I do use a 10,20,50,100, and 200. Sometimes I will just use the 10 and 20. I don't like to have too much on my screen and cause analysis paralysis. I would think 2 to 3 indicators agreeing on a resistance or support level would be enough.
That's good, you possibly might have one to many there but it's best to stick with the basics (20,50,200). Although I am a technical trader I have moved more into news driven plays in this market. The economy is extremely sensitive to the slightest events these days and I am finding it much easier to pick up a few good runs off breaking news releases then holding some technicals. I think it will be like this until things stablize a bit then will get back to strictly technicals, but any questions feel free to reach out.
I would definitely agree we are in a news driven market. We could have good news in the U.S. and bad news out of Europe which brings the market down and vice-versa. I am looking into using briefing.com for my news. Anyone, have experience with them?
Hey Errol,
If your looking for something on the basic side like Briefing you might also want to check out Benzinga, TradeTheNews, any audio driven news service. It's much quicker to get the word out by mouth then writing up a story then putting it out. I actually setup Google Alerts for specific news indicators I am looking for.
Thank you Steven. I have been looking into Trade the News, but have been out of town a lot lately, so haven't been in front of the screen as much as I should be.

Their audio service is good for quick breaking news plays and they also have a live news service. They are a little pricey but know most firms having pricing discounts on them if your with a prop firm.
Adding to this, News has me keened as well these days to quick price movements and taking advantage of them.
